What are Create-A-Books?
Create-A-Book, Inc. publishes personalized children's books and sets up distributors world wide. Started in 1980, Create-A-Book Inc. was the company that made instant personalized books a hit, later patenting the system and tools. The name Create-A-Book means quality. In the past, Create-A-Book has published unique personalized books for promotions for Kimberly Clark (Huggies), Proctor and Gamble, Hasbro Toy Company (Cabbage Patch), and one of the largest insurance companies in America. All of these books were custom designed exclusively for the dealer and their client. Their books have been shown on Oprah and Good Morning America, and featured in numerous magazine and newspaper articles nationwide.
Are Create-A-Books the same as those I see at the kiosks in the shopping malls?
Possibly, although it is not likely. There have been a number of new personalized book businesses started in recent years, and they primarily sell via shopping mall kiosks. Their products are similar, but not nearly as mature or well designed. Create-A-Books are professionally created, edited and constructed for quality that will last for years. Some Create-A-Book dealers do sell at shopping malls and shows, however; be sure to look for the Create-A-Book logo to ensure you're getting the best books available.

Create-A-Book products are high-quality books, professionally printed and edited. The stories are well written and entertaining for all ages. Most books have hard, wipe-clean, laminated covers and are perfect-bound. Most books contain 32-36 pages and measure 8-1/4" x 6-3/4". Some books have special features or characteristics which are noted on the order page. The books are beautifully and professionally illustrated and personalized with your childs name, age, friends and more (depending on the book). Your child will want to read these books over and over again.
How long will the books last?
You can expect these books to last as long as any hard cover children's book that you buy in any bookstore.
What age range is acceptable for these books?
Are any of the books appropriate for adults or older children?
Most books are targeted for children aged two to ten, although there are books for older children (many sports related) and adults (for example, see our Grown Up Books category). We try to indicate appropriate age ranges on the order page for all of our books.
Do certain books have any special features?
Yes. Some books are sticker books or include sticker sheets. Some are lift-the-flap (a kind of discovery book), some have pop-up pages and some are unusually sized. Any books which have special features are indicated on the order page.
How do I know what each story is about?
Where can I read the book prior to purchasing it?
We are working on providing a sample excerpt from each book so that you can see what each book is like. Where available, there will be a link on the ordering page for that book. All books contain a high degree of personalization, so take that into account when reading the sample sections.
Is your site secure?
Is it safe to make online payments here?
Yes. Our site uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to encrypt all information passed to us during the checkout process. You can rest assured that your information is safe and secure. Any time you are visiting a secure web site, you'll notice the address starts with "https:" and if you are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, you should see a closed "lock" icon on the status bar at the bottom of the page.
We do store confidential information about you, your account, your purchases and more on our servers, but that information is encrypted and secured at all times.
All charges will appear on your credit card bill as from "Fat City Hosting" (our parent company).
